hey all,

im on the way to connecticut right now with the IAN WALSH crew, so i figured I'd update a few things on my site.

I posted my TWITTER FEED on the hompage, so you all can see what I'm up to... I love using twitter beacuse it is like a timeline of my daily routine, and I love documenting all of the things I do, people I meet, and places I go. Hopefully you will follow me on Twitter!

I added the banner for a new clothing/accessories company who I'm endorsing called "Urband Knitfits"... my cousin Abigail actually started the company herself, and she sent me a really cool blue hand-knit wristband for me to wear when I play. You all should definitely check out what they are selling on their shop, I posted a link to their webstore on my LINKS page. Perfect gift ideas for the holidays!

I've also made plans to go to the NAMM show this year, in Anaheim, California. Last year was really amazing, so I knew I had to go back. If you are there, make sure to hit me up! I'll be there for the first 2 days of the show.

ALSO... special thanks to my friends over at SJC DRUMS for completely restoring my 60's Ludwig Supraphonic Snare Drum... it looks, sounds, and all around works 100% better than before. Here is a picture! I'll be using it at the next Ian Walsh show.

Lettuce SOLD OUT @ Paradise Rock Club, Boston, MA

WOW, I just saw the sickest concert!!

Last night was the ending night of Lettuce's New England mini-tour... they came through Boston's Paradise Rock Club last night.

I had been planing on going to the show for the past month, and I even went on the Web site to order tickets... but I kept on getting sidetracked to buying the tickets. To my dismay, time flew by so fast that I found myself without tickets DAY OF the show... I called the venue and it was SOLD OUT!

Although I was stoked about my favorite funk band selling out Paradise, I was genuinely sad about not having a ticket to get in.

Luckily, my friends over at Velour Music and Lettuce's own Adam Deitch were able to pull out the stops and help me get two tickets for the show at the last minute.

Long story short... I am SO appreciative of those guys helping me get in last night! Lettuce was SO TIGHT and EVERYONE in the venue was dancing their faces off. Exactly the way a good Lettuce show should be.

So I've just returned from a really fun show in Montpelier, Vermont with FRIT. We played at Langdon Street Cafe and the vibe was AWESOME!! I posted up a video from this performance... you can view it HERE

And I wanted to give a big thank you to all of the Ian Walsh street teams for coming to HOT TOPIC in connecticut for our big acoustic show. I've never been more happy to see everyone out... AND we got candy and Build-a-bears, which was a definite plus!

its starting to feel like summer

Wow! I can't believe that summer is coming! June is going to be an awesome month.

I'm excited to go see Phish in Camden coming up this Sunday... they just came through Boston a few days ago, and things got crazy! Hippies were running wild.

So I've made the decision to not attend Emerson College this summer or next fall. I'm a bit nervous, but I will be hitting the road playing drums for Ian Walsh. Two tours are being organized as we speak... one starting in mid-July for a month, and another one starting in September (7-week national tour). More news and show dates will be posted soon!

If you get a chance, make sure to catch Steely Dan on their U.S. tour this summer. They are doing some pretty epic shows... a few of the nights they will be playing full albums in their entirety (Aja, The Royal Scam, Gaucho, etc.)

I'm hoping I can catch them this summer... Keith Carlock is one of my FAVORITE drummers, along with "Ready" Freddy Washington on bass... I've seen them three times, and each time blew my mind.

WHATSUP?

So I've been quite busy with shows this month. Ian Walsh & the Sober Riots is doing great these days... we have built up a nice little following in Connecticut, which we are really appreciative for. We have a bunch of streetteams coming up all over the east coast who are helping promote the band, and our shows keep getting better and better.

We've also been fortunate enough to play shows with some really cool bands, including PUSH PLAY, STEREO SKYLINE, THE HOODIES, and a few more.

FRIT has a summer tour coming together from late June thru early July! LOTS of new dates updated on my "Gigs" page. Check it out!

I'm really excited about working with DW DRUMS because I have brand new set of hardware being shipped to me in the mail! 3 new boom cymbal stands, a new hihat stand and snare stand! I'm so stoked! New pictures will be up soon.

For now, here is a picture from yesterday's show opening for Push Play... Ian, Wiley and myself playing, then with our friend Marisa at the Meet & Greet... later on!

ALRIGHT. So today ends another full day of tracking with Ian Walsh. I'm happy to report ALL of my drum parts are recorded and DONE! :D

There is much more work to be done (keyboards, percussion, all the vocals, etc), but we are all VERY pleased with how progress is going.

Here are a few videos we posted on Ian's myspace blog... the 1st one is of myself, Ian and Josh Berger (bass) doing some live tracking of a song called "Golden Days", the 2nd is Ian wailing on his gold Gretsch guitar... enjoy!

Hey all...

Well I'm deciding to change my News section into a blog... which I'm pretty happy about.

Yesterday, my longtime friend, Ian Walsh and I drove down from Boston back home to Delaware. We are doing something pretty special...

We have been summoned by the forces of rock to record a new batch of songs @ Hammerhead Studios in Hockessin, Delaware! There are many songs to put together, but we are ready for the challenge. We are blessed to be working with a Grammy-Award winning studio engineer... Nick DiDia, one of the nicest and talented guys in the business.

Right now, we are laying down the basic tracks (drums, bass, guitar). Everything is sounding FANTASTIC so far, and I can't wait to share all the new songs with everyone!

NAMM show

Happy New Year! Just wanted to give a quick note about my first time attending the NAMM show... it was incredible... one of the greatest experiences of my life. It was awesome to meet so many great people and run into a bunch of old friends. Rock on guys! Just added a few gigs for February with FRIT and Ian Walsh, and look out for an EAST COAST TOUR with Ian Walsh at the end of Februrary.
